“Change was his motto during Obama's election campaign and the world has never needed a change more desperately than now. This makes him the right person at the right place and in my opinion at the wrong time.”

Obama has sworn in as the president of United States it seems everything else in the world has stopped since the focus of everyone, specially the media, seems to be on Obama. Sure it is one hell of a moment, a moment of achievement, personal as well as national (for US, not for India)

Obama the crusader of Change

Change was his motto during Obama's election campaign and the world has never needed a change more desperately than now. This makes him the right person at the right place and in my opinion at the wrong time. I guess the expectations from him are huge and unrealistic and people are going to lose their faith in him, for no fault of his. He may continue his effort to bring change to the best of his abilities but I doubt if that will ever match the expectations of the public.

Obama the Hanuman bhakt

On day a TV channel was taking about his devotion to Hanuman since the age of seven. For all I know he has a small statue of Hanuman as his lucky charm that he keeps in his pocket, I am not sure how often. The media on the other hand was making it sound like he reads the hanuman chalisa every morning and goes to a Hanuman temple every Tuesday.

Obama in your opinion

The opinion polls in the papers about Obama started even before Hillary went out of the race and continue to this day and I am sure will resurface to assess his achievements in a month, a quarter, six months, an year and so on. US is a powerful country and what happens there influence the rest of the world as well as us but only to a certain extent as demonstrated by the relatively much solid stock market of India but still we are obsessed. I don't see reading even 10% of polls debating about our own Dr. Manmohan Singh.
