Splitting the Indian atom

We call it unity in diversity but the British identified way too early that there is no unity. To get their way they started dividing people and this policy of dividing us was what allowed them to rule this country for 200 hundred years. Their division didn't stop till the time they leave when they divided the nation in two and ultimately in 3.

The politicians have learned this trick from the British and have divided the nation is name of religion and caste ever since we started voting for them. Any political leader with a microphone is trying to get his share of the division, whether it is Mayawati dividing the dalits from the rest of the nation or whether it is Raj Thackery who is dividing them as Marathis and non marathis.

Soon they would demand that at least 50% of the space of Marine Drive be reserved for Marathi couples.

This is like splitting the atom. To start with we had a nation that was divided between Hindus and Muslims. Then it was gradually divided between the Scheduled Castes and Tribes and the rest of the nation and in the 90s the Other Backward classes came to claim their share. We had divided the states as well like Punjab was split to make Haryana and Hiamanchal Prades and more recently Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Prades has been split as well. Once we were done splitting at that level, the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena started splitting them between locals and insiders.

A movie titled Deshdrohi has been made to exploit this divide. It has been banned by the Government in Maharashtra as they feel it can create a law and order problem. I am surprised that the government is proactive in maintaining the Law and Order of the Mumbai city and the rest of the state. I wish it was just as proactive when it came to the law and order problems created by Raj Thackery of MNS or the bomb blasts in the Mumbai trains.

I guess the government would have done something if they had run promos on TV like this movie.
