When I started Mental Floss, I used to send out regular updates. Around once a fortnight with links for all the posts in that period of time. When I started Picturejockey, I started sending out that update daily. The update was not as elaborate or customized as the one I used to send earlier but just a link to the latest post.

Then some time ago I posted an entry on my blog titled "Are you sure you are not spamming?" I thought about the mails I am sending felt what I am doing here can be considered spam as well. There are very few people in the list that have actually asked me to mail them the updates. Some of the people who get these updates may like them and some of them may not like them and just be deleting them without reading them but are just too polite to ask me not to send them.
Considering this I have decided to stop sending out the daily updates of the posts on either Picturejockey or Mental Floss. It took me some time to take this decision as I was thinking how those people who like to get these updates will be notified of the updates but I guess it is not an excuse to keep sending the same to people who don't like getting them.
Think about it yourself, if you don't like to read the updates I am sending you, you will just delete the mails without reading them. Now if you are someone I am not in regular thouch, this could be a dangerous thing because there are very good chances that you will delete any other mail from me without reading it thinking it is just an update you are not interested in.
If you are among the people who like to get the updates, I am sorry but the same will not be available in your mailbox but there are ways to know when my site is updated. You can keep yourself updated using the RSS feed. In case you don't know what it is, read on.

When you click on any feed, it is expanded to show some text and a thumbnail.
An RSS feed contains information about the updates on my site and you can subscribe to the feed using a RSS reader that you can download and install on your machine or you can use any one the on like service like netvibes.com or bloglines.com. Once you have subscribed to the feed, it will show you new entries as and when the site is updated.
If you would like to subscribe to the RSS feed of Picturejockey or Mental FLoss, the same is available at the mottom of every post or you may just click the following links
