I have been thinking about the ads I keep seeing on TV and in print and the claims all the companies make. Take the ads of detergents as an example. All the companies are claiming that their detergents are "more powerful on stains" and "gentle on colours" than ordinary detergents. I would like to know what is the ordinary detergent.
It is in every product, cooking oils that are low carb and cholesterol than the ordinary oils. Engine oils that give more life to engines than ordinary engine oils. ACs that cool better than the ordinary ACs, toothpastes that fights cavities and bad breath better than ordinary toothpastes and underwear that have a better elastic than ordinary undies. If all the products are better than the ordinary products where are the below par ordinary products and how have they manage to survive so long in the market. May be there are people who want only ordinary things, not extraordinary things.
Another thing that I am not able to understand completely are the ingredients in the products from shampoos with eggs, lemon, coconut oil, chick peas (kale chane), to ZPTO you have a variety of them that are all supposed to be good for your hair similarly you have petrols and diesels with additives than can make your SUV run like a Ferrari at an average of a 100CC motorcycle. There are more examples but I guess you have seen them all on TV. However there are two that I have been really amazed by.

Manikchand water is supposed to have 300% more oxygen, if what I understood in my chemistry class in school is correct, adding 300% oxygen will change the water to something else.

This is the tube of a face cream. I thought there are people like Deepak Chopra managements of big companies rely on to provide motivation to the employees but now I see a face cream can provide motivation as well. The wrinkles on the tube are caused by a very poor design of the tube. When you try to turn the cap to open it, the entire tube twists but the cap doesn't come off. Finally when it does come off, it brings out half the cream out. Damn, my hands are really slipping on the keyboard.
