I once read on the site of Harley Davidson "It is one thing people buying your product and a completely different thing people tattooing your name on their bodies." You won't tattoo the name of a company if you are just satisfied with its products; you won't even if you are very happy not even when you are extremely happy. You would tattoo the brand name if it means more than a brand name, when it is a part of you, your personality, your lifestyle and your identity.
There are a very few brands that evoke such a loyalty and passion and most of them happen to be automobiles and Harley Davidson in not the only motorcycle brand to enjoy that, we have a few in India too. I am quite passionate about Royal Enfield and I have one for the past eleven years. I may not have tattoo to prove it but then again I don't have Mira and Manu tattooed on my body either.

I reaslied how passionate some people can be when I posted a few images of run down vehicles on Flickr. I posted a picture of an old Yezdi with the heading "Yezdi - The bike that couldn't survive Japanese competition" I got a message from one guy saying "the JAWAS still rock they aint dead its jus the damn ppl .....chek my baby out ...." and he provided a couple of links to his bike's pictures. However a couple of days ago I got a message and reading that message gave me a feeling that the person could have turned violent if I was there in front of him. Here it is, his message reproduced for you
Today morning only I was watching a programme on Discovery about the evolution of the cars adn it talked abiut how the car has become from just a mode of transport to a integral part of our life where it has become a part of the courtship with young ment trying to impress young women with their flashy cars and older men trying to make a statement about their satus by buying exotic cars.
