To strip my profession of any superlatives or fancy titles, I will say I am a graphic designer who designs for both print and interactive media.
I started my carrer with Nirula's in house design department where I worked for 2 years before joining Mudra. After a short stint with Mudra I went to Australia to pursue an Advance Diploma in Electronic Design & Interactive Multimedia from Victoria University of Technology. I was there for 3 years, apart from attending Uni. I worked for company called Ad-Mag and later for IT Support Network.
What I do
I think,
I visualise,
I design,
This is basically what I do.
After working as a designer for 9 years, I have gained a thorough understanding of the creative process and I offer complete design solutions for a wide variety of media. I design for print and interactive media.
I am a UI expert and my job is not only to create a pretty looking design, I also make sure that the design conveys the required message, It's usable, it's effectively dissipating the information it is supposed to and it leaves a lasting impression in the mind of your target audience. Experience in the production side lets me create solutions, which fully utilise the advantages and work around the limitations of the medium.
I have experience is branding as well and have helped various companies in successfully creating an identity for them. I have experience in print as well. I can give you a holistic solution. When your entire official communications are handled by one creative agency or person, there is more synergy and the resulting branding has more impact and recall value. So if you want a logo or a brochure or an annual report or a website or a presentation or all of them call me and let me show you how I can help you.
How I do it.
Creating a design or communications solution usually requires doing the following.
- Requirement gathering: This is to understand the objective: What do you want to do, why do you want to do it, do you have some thing special in mind. Who are the target audience, what do they like and dislike.
- Research: The next step, is to do a little research on what can be done about your problem, what is the best possible solution to your problem, what are your competitive doing? What are other people targeting the same audience doing? How do you get a favorable response from your target audience.
- Strategy: Creating a strategy is very important as it helps you in setting a goal for yourself. Now we decide which is the best possible route to your creative solution. There is a message that needs to be conveyed and we now figure out the most efficient and effective way of doing it.
- Visualisation: Finally after all we have gained so far, we are now in a position to give you what you came looking for in the first place, design.
So you see, a design I give you is not just some lines & boxes and text, it is the culmination of a lot of hard work and my experience.
